The short stroke recoil spring shortens the stroke of the cycle to the absolute max allowing for stable feeding and cycling while increasing your rate of fire significantly. Depending on the overall weight of the slide and BBU settings, you may loose the slide stop function in exchange of a shorter stroke/cycle.
