The MK46 Mod.0, adopted by the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), is a redesigned version of the M249, a weapon used by the U.S. military, to be as light and compact as possible. After several prototypes, the weight was reduced by eliminating the carry handle, tripod mount lug, and 30-round magazine attachment.
